In 2001 my love of food and interest in how our nutritional choices affect our bodies lead me to give up a successful career in IT to follow a very different path. I attended Leith’s School of Food and Wine to train as a chef, during which time I had the opportunity to work at some world class restaurants including The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, Oxo Tower, Vong, and Kensington Place.  After achieving joint first place in my final examination, I spent a couple of years teaching cookery and catering, then set up a fish business producing award winning cured halibut products, receiving Great Taste Gold Awards in 2008 and 2009.

My experience in the food industry allowed me to turn my attention to nutrition and healthy eating, focusing on dietary choices and advice for people with coeliac disease, diabetes, and those following a vegetarian/vegan diet.  Some of my clients are involved in sporting activity, and with their diet playing a key part in their performance/success, it was a natural progression for me to study sports nutrition.

More recently (January 2011) I was introduced to The Metabolic Effect, and am pleased to be part of one of the first groups of people to become certified to teach this programme in the UK.  You can learn more about ME here, or visit their website www.metaboliceffect.com .

Together with my passion for food and extensive knowledge of nutrition, my goal is to help you achieve your goals. Whether it’s finishing first in your chosen sport, getting more out of your training, losing some inches, broadening your cookery skills, or just improving your diet by making better choices, I’m here to help you get there.
